We enjoy a large dose of British heritage here at Jack, and our buildings reflect that too, which is exactly why our new store is located in a Grade II listed building. Taking over what was once Beverley’s oldest shop – a hardware and electrical store called Briggs & Powell Ltd. that had been trading since 1896 – we understand we’ve inherited an amazing piece of history that we’ll put to good use.

Some things just leave you feeling utterly content – seeing the first snow of winter, listening to Samm Henshaw, wondering around Beverley Minster… Yes, we’d put Beverley’s 13th century minster on our list of top 10 awe-inspiring things to do. Founded in 400AD and completed in 1400, it’s an impressive masterpiece of gothic architecture that everyone can appreciate.

Right this moment it’s five weeks, four days and 13 hours until Christmas Day (but hey, who’s counting?) Jump to the yuletide festivities early and visit Beverley’s Festival of Christmas opening on Sunday 10th December. Head to Saturday Market to shop their seasonal Victorian Christmas market, or jingle down to Flemingate to listen to the triumphant, festive tunes from the East Riding of Yorkshire Brass Band. It’s an easy way to get Christmas cheer into your system.

Championing the very best flavours that Beverley has to offer and sourcing from trusted local suppliers, The Westwood Restaurant has a renowned reputation for serving outstanding food. We suggest digging into a Sunday roast with no regrets.

Well, this is a Jack Wills Handbook post after all. British weather isn’t known for being predictable – so girls, wear a casual dress with tights and boots, or a classic checked shirt and jeans combo with a jacket on top. Guys, opt for sweatshirts, jeans and a warm coat to top it all off.

If you’re in the area please be sure to pop in to store and say hello to our wonderful team. You can find us at 59 Saturday Market, Beverley, HU17 8AQ, and our store locator is here.
