Gardening: it ain’t rock ‘n’ roll but they like it. It’s a fact – you could fill Twickenham (twice) with the RHS Chelsea Flower Show’s yearly crop of visitors, bristling with as much excitement and anticipation as a pre-match crowd of rugby fans (although they’re less rowdy and far more impressively turned out).

Which Show Garden will dazzle the most, they wonder? Which famous faces will be in attendance? And, crucially, will the weather be kind to these labours of horticultural love? All will become clear this week as the floral extravaganza unfolds.

We’re particularly looking forward to the photographic exhibits and floral arch to celebrate the 90th birthday of RHS patron HM The Queen. There will also be a beautiful poppies tribute at the entrance to the show, a 60-foot carriage from Belmond British Pullman, undoubtedly impossible to miss, and, intriguingly, The British Eccentrics Garden featuring bizarre garden gadgetry that comes to life every 15 minutes. Remember to take your shades, umbrella and an appreciation for all things green and good in this world.
