‘I’m a Pisces so I’m generally happiest when near water’ says Esther, our Senior Stylist. She tells us that her favourite holiday was in Kerala, India – getting up before the sun to surf, before winding down to sunset yoga. Being a fan of water (did we mention her love for coconut water, too?) means that having the correct swimwear is essential. We get her top tips on styling.

For Esther, bikinis are a favourite since they are so easy to mix and match. Feeling brave? Clash different prints and styles – think the Saunton strappy top in navy with the Pentle textured bottoms in multi-stripe. Or, if you’re feeling totally tropical, match the Penbryn bikini top with the Botany bottoms. You’ll be palm print ready in no time – glass of mojito optional.

Sometimes though, a bikini isn’t enough. Underwear may be the new outerwear, but so is swimwear, with more and more opportunities to style it as part of a daytime look. Esther suggests pairing sportier styles (like a cropped rashguard) with summer shorts, or layering your swimwear with a floral dress. The Daisybank is perfect for both beach cover up and casual evening dress. Finally, if you’re in need of a stylish party look, wear a cut-out swimsuit like this one with cropped denim shorts. Sorted.

All well and good but we know that finding the perfect swimwear isn’t easy. Esther suggests that smaller busted women will benefit from sportier styles, while those with a larger bust should choose balcony varieties with under-wiring and adjustable features (the Botany is great for that). Finally, don’t be afraid of a simple swimsuit – ‘they’re always flattering and chic’.
