ALL TO PLAY FOR

The World Cup, Russia  – 14th June – 15th July

It all kicks off (pun very much intended) today at 4pm! It’s been four years of anxious waiting and this year the 2018 World Cup is being held in Russia. This week you’ll probably see Love Island getting the red card and hitting the bench whilst football takes over. Finger’s crossed you’ve got the winner in at least one of the multiple sweepstakes you’ve entered.

LET THE GAMES BEGIN

The Highland Games, Aberdeen – 17th June

Aberdeen’s Highland Games will be held this weekend in front of 1000s of spectators in Hazlehead Park on the outskirts of the city. Think hammer throws, bagpipers with lungs of steel and Clans showing off their kilt game.

ALL MADE UP

Frida Kahlo, V&A Museum – 16th June

Perhaps most of you would recognise her as ‘that lady with the unibrow’, but she’s way more than that. The V&A are putting on a colourful exhibition – Frida Kahlo: Making Her Self Up – about artist Frida Kahlo who took inspiration for her self-portraits from her country of Mexico. This exhibition uncovers her collection of clothing, jewellery and cosmetics – her unique way of dressing which made her one of the most photographed women of her time.

IT’S ALL UP IN THE AIR

Zip-Wiring, Snowdonia – 15th June

Is zip wiring on Europe’s longest wire on your bucket list? Did you know you can do it in the UK? This week on our Hit the Road Jack story – Gemita & Steph will be taking the plunge and doing it themselves. Follow them on their journey via Instagram, or head down there yourself and you might be able to catch a quick ‘hello’ with the girls.

DAD’S THE WORD

Father’s Day – 17th June

A gentle reminder that Father’s Day is this Sunday. Whether it’s socks, a smart shirt or one of our accessories, show them the how much you appreciate all their bad dad jokes with our edit.
